• We instigate regular FEMLEAD forums where young girls can express themselves and openly explain their problems, as well as their perceptions.
• Through individual and group meetings we address specific cultural practices that hurt the girl child.

This is with a view to suggesting practical and hands-on measures aimed at mitigating certain social and cultural habits. For example, a girl may not be allowed to go to school because she is expected to marry. She may be persuaded into early marriage in exchange for a dowry (monetary gain) for the parents. She might be forced into female genital mutilation (FGM).
