Due to high poverty rates in Uganda, girls are usually expected to work as a way to increase the family’s income. Local traditions, especially in rural areas, dictate that girls can be married in exchange for a dowry.

Femlead work to educate girls on their human rights, especially in regards to child marriage and sexual activity.
